Memoir Who remembers that first day we all showed up at this brand new school, Chatsworth? The trees were puny, the buildings brand new, and there was no fence around the school- a first! But it would get so hot, uggh! And we girls had to wear nylon stockings and dresses and shoes. No shorts! No strapless! no flip-flops! Then there was Dr. Smith zooming around the campus like a mad-woman, all 4'10" of her, bossing everyone around. Hah! The kids loved her, the staff thought she was evil.
