LOS ANGELES -- Senior left-hander Michael Renner has been selected Los Angeles City Section player of the year.

 

Renner (right) had a 10-2 record with a 1.44 earned-run average. He threw a two-hitter to beat top-seeded Cleveland, 9-0, in the City final.

 

Joining Renner on the first team are catcher Carlos Escobar Jr., outfielder Andrew Klausmeier, shortstop Kasey Toven and outfielder Andy Weissberg. All are seniors.
