LAS VEGAS -- The Chancellors (9-3) swept two games tonight in the Las Vegas Durango tournament, beating Niwot of Longmont, Colo., 11-4, and Durango, 8-6, in five innings, concluding a game that had been suspended Monday night.
Brett Voets (1-0) picked up the victory over Durango in relief. He struck out two in three innings and Steven Karkenny earned a save. Second baseman Brady Conlan was four for four and first baseman Ricky Obando had two run-scoring doubles. Third baseman Ryan Escobar had a two-run single.
Against Niwot earlier in the day, right-hander Christian Lopez struck out 10 in a complete-game effort. Second baseman Chris Carlin was three for four, including two doubles, designated hitter Adam Baslow had a two-run single and a sacrifice fly, and Obando had two doubles and drove in two runs.
