Third baseman Ryan Escobar, bottom right, hit a two-run home run to left field and right-hander Angel Rodriguez (3-0) earned the victory in relief as the host Chancellors (17-3, 5-0 in West Valley League play) defeated Granada Hills, 9-3, today in a WVL game.
Left fielder Justin Davis, top right, had two hits and scored two runs; pitcher-center fielder Aaron Brown had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs, and right fielder Angel Calderon and first baseman-pitcher Steven Karkenny each drove in a run. Karkenny scored two runs.
The game between the Chancellors and Highlanders that was postponed Tuesday because of rain has been rescheduled for May 11 at 3 p.m. at Granada Hills.
Junior Varsity: The Chancellors completed a two-game sweep of Granada Hills with a 7-1 road victory in which right-hander Ricky Bernal threw a two-hitter. Left fielder Raul Camas, center fielder T.J. Alfano and pinch-hitter Jerry Ismerio each had run-scoring doubles. Second baseman Justin Vega had two hits and drove in two runs.
On Tuesday, the host Chancellors defeated the Highlanders, 11-3, behind a six-inning, two-hit performance by left-hander Kiefer Kofman. Right fielder Tim Han hit a three-run home run for the Chancellors, left fielder Raul Camas was four for four, and third baseman Ernesto Prado and catcher Chris DeVito each had two hits.
