Right-hander Angel Rodriguez (4-0) went the distance, center fielder Aaron Brown, right, hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning and the host Chancellors (19-3, 6-0 league play) defeated Taft, 10-0, today in a West Valley League game called after 4-1/2 innings because of the 10-run rule.
Right fielder Steven Karkenny was three for three, including a double and second baseman Brady Conlan had two doubles, including one that drove in two runs in the fourth inning. Brown had a run-scoring single in the second inning.
Rodriguez gave up three hits and struck out three batters.
Junior Varsity: The Chancellors defeated host Taft, 11-3, behind home runs by catcher Chris DeVito, right fielder Tim Han and left fielder Raul Camas. Left-hander Kiefer Kofman pitched six innings to earn the victory.
