WOODLAND HILLS--Steven Karkenny's grand slam highlighted an eight-run sixth inning for the Chancellors (20-3, 7-0 in league play), who defeated host Taft, 11-6, today in a West Valley League game.
Karkenny (4-1), right, earned the victory with 2-2/3 innings of relief work. He finished with five runs batted in. Catcher Sean O'Connell had a run-scoring double, designated hitter Ricky Obando had two hits and drove in two runs and second baseman Brady Conlan had a hit and two RBIs.
The Chancellors announced that the April 20 rained out game that had been scheduled for Granada Hills will be made up May 8 at noon at Chatsworth. The Granada Hills field is not available that date. This is a change from a previously announced date.
