<font color="#f26100">Chancellors Shut Out Granada Hills</font>

Saturday, May 8, 2010

Right-hander Angel Rodriguez (5-1) struck out six and gave up one hit and the host Chancellors defeated Granada Hills, 13-0, today in a West Valley League season finale.

The game was a make-up of a rainout April 20. The Chancellors (23-4, 9-1 in league play) finish in a tie with El Camino Real for first place in the WVL, but likely will receive the top seeding from the league, and perhaps for the City Section playoffs, when the pairings are announced. Chatsworth and El Camino Real split their two games, but the Chancellors have a superior overall record, which the seeding committee will take into consideration.

Designated hitter Ricky Obando had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in three runs against Granada Hills. Center fielder Aaron Brown had two hits, including a three-run triple, catcher Sean O'Connell had two hits and drove in a run and pinch-hitter Kevin Siegel, right, had a two-run single.
