Chatsworth (2-0) continues play in the Easton Southern California Showdown when it plays host to Simi Valley (2-0) on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

 

Junior Trent Jones makes his varsity debut for the Chancellors, who are coming off consecutive shutout victories. Jones, a 6-foot-3 right-hander, led the Chatsworth JV last season with an 8-0 record and a 1.19 earned-run average.

 

Simi Valley defeated Hart, 8-7, in eight innings and Canyon, 3-0. The Chancellors are 3-1 against Simi Valley but the schools have not met since 1985, when the Pioneers won, 7-6, in a Monroe tournament game.

 

The winner will play Thursday at a location to be determined against the winner of Wednesday's game between Quartz Hill and Valencia.
