VALENCIA -- The Chancellors mustered little offense and suffered their first defeat of the season, losing to the Valencia Vikings, 4-0, in an Easton Southern California Showdown semifinal game Thursday afternoon.
The Vikings (4-0) got to senior right-hander Josh Ravin (1-1) for two runs in the third inning and two in the fourth, ending a string of 21 consecutive scoreless innings by Chatsworth (3-1) pitchers.
It is the first shutout loss for the Chancellors since losing 3-0 to Sabino of Tucson, Arizona, in 2003 in the Las Vegas Durango tournament. It was Chatsworth's only loss that season.
