LOS ANGELES -- A two-out single up the middle by junior center fielder Nick Devian (pictured) drove in pinch-runner Andy Weissberg in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Chancellors over the Alemany Indians, 3-2, in a nonleague game Wednesday afternoon at UCLA's Jackie Robinson Stadium.
Weissberg, a freshman first baseman-outfielder, had re-entered the game to run for sophomore first baseman James Wharton, who had reached on a double.
Senior right-hander Josh Ravin (2-1) went the distance for the Chancellors, striking out eight and giving up four hits.
Junior shortstop Mike Moustakas and junior third baseman Matt Dominguez each had a double for Chatsworth.
The Chancellors (4-1) play host to Kennedy (2-2) in a nonleague game Thursday at 3 p.m.
JV defeats Alemany, 3-1: Sophomore right-hander Trevor Takeyama (2-0) struck out seven in a complete-game performance for the Chancellors (3-1-1) at Chatsworth.
Junior shortstop David Whetstone, freshman second baseman Shawn Meusborn and freshman third baseman Ryan Cooperstone each had two hits for the Chancellors, who play a nonleague game at Kennedy on Thursday at 3 p.m.
