For the fourth consecutive year, the Chancellors were seeded No. 1 in the 16-team Los Angeles City Section Championship Division playoffs at a meeting of coaches and administrators Saturday at Birmingham High.
The Chancellors (27-2), champions of the West Valley League, will play host to No. 16-seeded Verdugo Hills (18-6-1), the second-place team in the Sunset Six League, in a first-round game Wednesday at 3 p.m.

The semifinals are May 23 at the home fields of the two higher-seeded teams and the title game is May 27 at 2:30 p.m. Dodger Stadium.
The Chancellors are 2-0 against Verdugo Hills from 1980 to the present. The teams last played March 17, 2001, with the Chancellors winning at Verdugo Hills, 17-3.
Being seeded No. 1 has become commonplace for Chatsworth in the last several years. The Chancellors received the top spot from 1998 to 2001 and from 2003 to the present.
