HARBOR CITY -- The Chancellors on Wednesday advanced to the inaugural JV City title game by defeating host Narbonne, 6-0, behind junior left-hander Troy Cassidy's three-hitter.
Cassidy, who struck out seven and picked off three baserunners, was supported with nine hits.
Freshman shortstop Ryan Cooperstone had two hits, including a two-run triple in the sixth inning; freshman first baseman Michael Renner had two hits, including a two-run single in the fourth, and junior right fielder Luis Ramirez had two singles and a sacrifice fly. Sophomore left fielder Patrick O'Connell had a double.
Chatsworth will face West Valley League rival El Camino Real in the championship game Friday at 3 p.m. at Woodland Hills. The Conquistadores advanced with a 6-0 win over Palisades.
The Chancellors finished second to the Conquistadores in league play.
