Chatsworth senior pitcher Josh Ravin and former Chancellor standout pitcher Justin Cassel, a junior at UC Irvine, were selected Tuesday in the major leagues amateur draft.
Ravin, a right-hander who was 6-2 with a 2.68 earned-run average this season, was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the fifth round as the 144th overall player chosen.
Cassel, a right-hander who was 7-9 with a 3.43 ERA this season, was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the seventh round as the 225th overall player chosen.
Cassel had a 33-4 record with the Chancellors and holds several school career pitching records, including games pitched (49), innings (254), strikeouts (260) and shutouts (12).
