Chancellor All-City junior outfielder Bobby Coyle is recuperating at

Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach after suffering severe injuries

Sunday in an All-Star game.

 

Coyle was playing center field on the South team against the North team

in the final game of the three-game series at UC Irvine when he

collided with the right fielder while chasing a flyball. He suffered a skull

fracture, a broken orbital bone in his left eye, a broken nose and a

concussion.

 

The left-hander will remain in the hospital for a couple more days and is not expected to return to the field for several weeks.
