LOS ANGELES Top-seeded Chatsworth (24-6) fell, 8-6, to No. 6 San Fernando (28-6) in the Los Angeles City Section title game today at Dodger Stadium.
The Chancellors took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a run-scoring groundout by Brady Conlan and a steal of home by Aaron Brown.
San Fernando scored three runs in the second inning and five in the third for an 8-2 lead, but Chatsworth responded with three runs in the third on a run-scoring single by Steven Karkenny, right, and run-scoring triples by Brown and Raul Camas.
Chatsworth closed the gap to 8-6 with a run in the fourth inning but could not get any closer.
Karkenny was four for four and Brown was two for three.
