Third baseman Matt Dominguez hit a two-run triple and first baseman Mike Moustakas had a run-scoring single to help Team USA defeat winless Spain, 11-1, Friday in the baseball junior world championships in Cuba in a Pool B game stopped after seven innings because of the 10-run rule.
Team USA ended pool play with a 3-2 record and in a three-way tie for second place with Chinese Taipei and Mexico. But because of head-to-head losses to those teams, Team USA will be the No. 4 team from Pool B and will have to play Cuba (5-0), winner of Pool A, in a quarterfinal game Sunday in Sancti Spiritus at 5 p.m. Pacific time. Canada (4-1) won Pool B.
