The host Chancellors defeated Taft, 10-0, today in a West Valley League opener for both teams that was halted in the fifth inning because of the 10-run rule.

 

Right-hander Jason Karkenny, bottom, struck out six batters and gave up two hits, shortstop Jared Holley drove in two runs and second baseman Scott Voets drove in three.

 

The Chancellors (8-1-1) travel to Woodland Hills on Thursday to take on Taft.

 

JV: The Chancellors (11-1, 3-0 WVL play) defeated host Taft, 11-0, in five innings in a WVL game. Andrew Barron, top, pitched a complete game, center fielder Miguel Olivas doubled twice and right fielder Micah Ortiz had three hits.
