The Chatsworth baseball tournament to be held during the December holiday break also will serve as an opportunity for the players and families involved to participate in a toy drive for patients at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.

 

Those participating in the tournament are being asked to donate a new unwrapped toy, game or an item such as a CD, CD/DVD player, playing cards, craft kits, bead kits, models and puzzles (100 pieces maximum). Some ideas for baby gifts include musical crib mobiles, crib activity boxes, rattles and clothes (sleepers).

 

The hospital has plenty of books from another contact and we cannot collect monetary donations. However, gift cards are welcome.

 

Because of legal considerations, players are not allowed to hand-deliver the toys to the children, but they may help take the gifts to the hospital and can take a tour of the facilities. Information will be provided at the tournament as to when the donations will be delivered to the hospital, along with a letter that will acknowledge all of the participating schools.
