Former Chancellors All-City catcher Carlos Escobar was selected Tuesday by the Chicago Cubs in the 15th round of the Major League Baseball amateur draft.

 

 

 

Escobar, a junior catcher and a three-year starter at Nevada Reno, was a first-team All-Western Athletic Conference selection this season after batting .283 with 14 doubles, four home runs and 38 runs batted in to help the Wolf Pack earn a share of the conference title.
