The Chancellors will try to get back to their winning ways when they travel to Newhall Hart today for an Easton tournament game at 3 p.m.
Senior right-hander Trent Jones (pictured) is expected to start. He is coming off a 4-0 win over Alemany in the opener.
ABOUT CHATSWORTH: The Chancellors (2-1) fell behind in the first inning and could not recover, losing to Calabasas, 12-8, Monday in an Easton tournament game.
It was the earliest defeat in a season for the Chancellors since 1997, when they lost their first three games. Five errors contributed to Chatsworth’s downfall in its worst loss since a 12-3 defeat to Carson in 2000.
ABOUT HART: The Indians (2-1) are coming off a 6-0 loss at Thousand Oaks on Tuesday.
SERIES VERSUS HART: Chatsworth is 2-3 against Hart since 1980. The last meeting between the teams was on March 12, 2005, when the Indians ended the Chancellors’ state-record 54-game winning streak with a 4-3 victory at UCLA.
DIRECTIONS TO HART: From Chatsworth High, drive north on De Soto Avenue to the 118 Freeway and proceed east to the 405 Freeway. Take the 405 Freeway north, which becomes the 5 Freeway, and continue on the 5 Freeway to the 14 Freeway north toward Palmdale/Lancaster. Exit the 14 Freeway at San Fernando Road and continue to Newhall Avenue. Turn left and drive to the school at 24825 Newhall Ave.
