Junior left-hander Casey Fry threw a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts and the Chancellors JV defeated Poly, 21-0, today in a Los Angeles City Section playoffs quarterfinal game at Chatsworth.
The Chancellors (21-5-1) will travel to Kennedy for a semifinal game Tuesday at 3 p.m. The Golden Cougars advanced with a 14-0 victory over Verdugo Hills.
Sophomore center fielder Andrew Klausmeier hit a grand slam and two doubles to lead the Chancellors, who got a triple and a single from freshman catcher Sean O’Connell, a double by freshman first baseman Derek Nealy, two triples by sophomore left fielder Anthony Flores, a double and a single by junior right fielder Patrick O’Connell and a triple by junior third baseman Mark Felshaw.
Fry finished with two hits, and sophomore second baseman Shawn Meusborn, sophomore pinch-hitter Freddy Ramirez and freshman catcher Nick Armogida each had a hit.
