Chancellors first baseman James Wharton was selected most valuable player of the South team after hitting two home runs in the California Baseball Coaches' Assn. North-South three-game series last weekend at San Jose State.
Wharton helped the South team win the first two games, 10-2 and 9-7. The North won the final game, 7-6. Only one other home run was hit in the series for juniors.
