Chatsworth’s football team will be looking different next year because there will be a new coach, and the star quarterback does not attend the school anymore.

Mr. Kim has resigned his position as Chatsworth’s head football coach after five seasons. He said he needs to spend more time with his family. “I've been coaching at Chatsworth Charter High School since 2003, and during the football season, I am on campus usually from 7 a.m. to 7p.m. In the last 13 years, I've dedicated my life to making men out of boys, but I'd consider myself a failure if I didn't guide my own sons to manhood,” Mr. Kim said.

The former football coach believes his resignation will not affect the football team in a negative way. He said he left the team in a good place, and he will be there to guide the new coach so the team can continue their success.

Another person who will not be a part of Chatsworth’s football team is former quarterback Tyger Goslin. Although Goslin is “a special player and one of the best quarterbacks in California,” his absence will not affect next year’s season, according to Mr. Kim. “We will miss Tyger a lot, but just like when a senior graduates, the next guy up needs to step it up,” he said.

Mr. Kim also said he was confident the team will have players to compete for the quarterback position next season.

He also said that the team will need to adapt again on offense to fit the next group of Chancellors, but they will be fine.

This season Chatsworth’s football team won nine games and went to the division two semifinals. “The key to our success was our preparation and our off-season work,” Mr. Kim said.

Goslin was named the West Valley League Offensive Player of the Year and was a first team All City selection. Another standout player was Michael Sandoval, who was named the West Valley League Offensive Lineman of the Year, and was a first team All City selection.
