WOODLAND HILLS -- Chatsworth gave up seven hits and lost to host Taft, 2-1, today in nine innings in the second game of a home-and-home West Valley League series.
It was the first loss for the Chancellors (9-4, 1-1) against Taft (5-7, 1-1) since May 8, 1998, when the Toreadors prevailed, 2-0, at home.
Junior third baseman Ryan Cooperstone scored for the Chancellors in the fourth inning on a single by junior outfielder Michael Renner.
Chatsworth travels to Woodland Hills on Wednesday to play El Camino Real (12-3, 2-0) at 3 p.m. in the first game of the home-and-home WVL series.
