For the sixth consecutive year, the Chancellors are seeded No. 1 for the Los Angeles City Section Championship Division playoffs that start May 21.
The Chancellors (25-5), the West Valley League champions, will play host to No. 16-seeded Polytechnic (18-12), the third-place team from the Sunset Six League, in a first-round game scheduled for 3 p.m.
Chatsworth, the defending champion, is seeking a record eighth section title and seventh under Coach Tom Meusborn. The Chancellors also are looking to reach Dodger Stadium for the sixth consecutive year.
The Championship Division bracket is as follows:
Upper bracket:
16 Poly (18-12, Sunset Six 3) at 1 Chatsworth (25-5, West Valley 1)
9 Banning (20-10, Marine 2) at 8 Palisades (19-11-1, Western 1)
12 San Pedro (13-15, Marine 3) at 5 Marshall (26-4, Northern 1)
13 Grant (17-9, Sunset Six 2) at 4 Kennedy (20-10, Valley Mission 1)
Lower bracket:
14 Taft (12-17, West Valley 4) at 3 Roosevelt (31-5-1, Eastern 1)
11 San Fernando (16-14, Valley Mission 2) at 6 Cleveland (West Valley 2)
10 El Camino Real (18-13, West Valley 3) at 7 Verdugo Hills (22-10, Sunset Six 1)
15 Sylmar (13-12, Valley Mission 3) at 2 Narbonne (24-6, Marine 1)
Second-round games are May 23 at 3 p.m. at home of higher-seeded team, semifinals are May 28 at 3 p.m. at home of higher-seeded team and final is May 31 at Dodger Stadium at noon.
Junior varsity: The Chancellors, the second-place team in the WVL, will travel to No. 16-seeded Westchester on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. game, with the winner playing at top-seeded Roosevelt on Wednesday.
