Junior first baseman Shawn Meusborn made a run-saving grab of a ball hit to his right and threw to Wharton, who covered first base on the play, for the out.
JV: Sophomore second baseman Ryan Wittler had two doubles and freshman shortstop Chris Carlin had two hits and drove in four runs to lead the Chancellors past top-seeded Roosevelt, 9-5, in a first-round game.
