Senior right fielder Andy Weissberg hit two home runs, senior left fielder Freddy Ramirez hit one and the host Chancellors defeated Narbonne, 14-3, today in a Chatsworth tournament game stopped in the fifth inning because of the 10-run rule.
Weissberg (top photo) and Ramirez (bottom photo) each finished with three runs batted in. Weissberg hit a two-run home run to right-center field in the first inning and Ramirez hit a two-run home run to left field in the same inning. Weissberg lef off the second inning with his second home run.
Junior designated hitter Derek Neely was three for three, including a double, and drove in a run for the Chancellors (21-2), and third baseman Ryan Cooperstone was two for two, including a double, and drove in a run.
Sophomore right-hander Christian Lopez struck out two in four innings to pick up the victory. Senior left-hander Noah Hershewe worked a scoreless inning.
Frosh-Soph: The Chancellors beat host Cleveland, 13-6 and 9-8.
Ricky Lewis threw a complete game to lead the Chancellors in the first game.
Chatsworth trailed in the second game, 6-0, but rallied to win it with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Justin Vega delivered the game-winning hit and Ricky Bernal pitched two innings in relief to pick up the victory.
