WOODLAND HILLS -- Three home runs, including a grand slam, powered the Chancellors (22-2 overall, 8-1 in league play) to a 15-1, five-inning win over host Taft in a West Valley League game Wednesday.

Junior first baseman Derek Neely (right) hit a fifth-inning grand slam, senior center fielder Andrew Klausmeier had a two-run shot in the same inning and senior right fielder Andy Weissberg got the power surge going with a three-run drive in the second inning, his team-leading seventh this season.

Senior left-hander Michael Renner (7-1) gave up three hits and struck out two over five innings.

Weissberg also had a two-run single and Neely had a run-scoring single. Each finished with five runs batted in.

Senior shortstop Kasey Toven had two hits and drove in a run, and senior second baseman Shawn Meusborn had a single and an RBI.

The Chancellors play host to the Toreadors on Friday at 3 p.m.

JV: Left-hander Brett Voets pitched all five innings and the host Chancellors defeated
Taft, 10-0, in a game called because of the 10-run rule.

Jared Holley and Mark Fiero hit doubles for the Chancellors, and Brady Conlan had two hits.
