LAKE BALBOA -- Senior right fielder Andy Weissberg had three doubles, senior center fielder Andrew Klausmeier had two and the Chancellors defeated Birmingham, 16-0, today in a West Valley League game.

 

The Chancellors improved to 24-3 overall, 10-2 in league play. Chatsworth plays at Cleveland on Friday at 3 p.m. with the league title at stake.

 

Weissberg (right) drove in four runs and Klausmeier drove in two. Senior first baseman Michael Renner, junior designated hitter Derek Neely and senior catcher Carlos Escobar Jr. each had two hits for Chatsworth.

 

Sophomore Aaron Brown and junior Angel Calderon each had pinch-hit singles, and junior left fielder Sean O'Connell had a double for Chatsworth.

 

Senior right-hander starter Ryan Cooperstone struck out three over three innings. Senior right-hander Shawn Meusborn and senior left-hander Noah Hershewe each pitched an inning.

 

JV: The host Chancellors lost to Birmingham, 7-4.
