Junior first baseman Derek Neely hit two two-run home runs and senior left-hander Michael Renner went the distance as the host and No. 2-seeded Chancellors defeated No. 10 Bell, 14-1, in five innings in a City Section Division I quarterfinal playoff game.
The Chancellors (28-4) advanced to an all-West Valley League semifinals and will play host to No. 3 El Camino Real (23-9) on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Top-seeded Cleveland (25-7) will play host to No. 12 Granada Hills (15-16) in the other semifinal.
Chatsworth is aiming to make a seventh consecutive appearance in the City Section title game. The Chancellors are the two-time defending champions.
Against Bell, Renner (right) struck out five and gave up two hits. He also hit a two-run double.
Senior outfielder Andy Weissberg hit a three-run triple and finished with four runs batted in, and senior second baseman Shawn Meusborn had two hits and drove in a run.
