The principles of computer science are necessary for a student to graduate college and career ready. The fields of Computer Science are vast and ever changing. The foundational skills necessary for all fields are rooted in knowledge of language history and use and the interactions between the user and the machine. Specific career paths call for more depth of knowledge in application versus design. But all students need the skills necessary to understand the most rudimentary program for most careers today and tomorrow. The aim of this department is to inspire designers to experiment with new ways of interacting with people and machine.
